Letter from the Director

Alex Traube, Executive Director of New Mexico CultureNet Dear Friends & Colleagues-

August is a wonderful month in New Mexico. There are more things to do than there are hours in the day. The diversity of our cultural life and natural resources is also amazing. August is a time to savor the richness of New Mexico.

August also means that school starts in a few weeks. New Mexico CultureNet's Poets-in-the-Schools program is working with more schools and social service agencies than ever before. Our programs provide literacy and confidence building for students, support for teachers and work for New Mexico poets. Poetry inspires dialog, introspection and student success. If your school, agency or organization would like to know more about our programs, please contact me. We're starting to schedule for the fall semester now.

Thanks and have an auspicious August.

-Alex Traube
